Sprouting Life is run by my husband Eddy and by me, Mireille Martinez. Eddy and I started growing sprouts three years ago for our own family to enhance the nutrition of our vegan diet. Since I was thirty years old, I suffered terribly from ulcerative colitis. I was very ill and depressed for nine years. However, my health turned around for the best when I went to the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida, where I learnt to eat large amounts of sprouts and to drink wheatgrass. Because of my amazing health recovery, Eddy and I decided to grow more sprouts and sell them at the Guelph Farmers' Market. We wanted for other people to learn about the wonderful healing properties of sprouts.
Eddy and I have a special set up in our home, where we grow about 80 trays of a mixture of wheatgrass, sunflower greens and pea shoots. We also grow alfalfa, clover, mung beans and other sprouts. To grow our sprouts we use organic soil, certified organic seeds, purified water and food grade peroxide to produce great quality sprouts. We also run sprout growing workshops and raw food preparation workshops. |
